GIft Day is 15 December. Full disclosure before I start: I work for the publisher of the book that sparked the idea for Gift Day. Gift Day is about the unconditional sharing of your talents and gifts with others. Like the Mastercard ads indicate, some things are priceless (which is ironic).
I worked very hard on a magazine I ran for about two years when I lived in China, and I think my experience from that helped to formulate this idea.

Since she did do full disclosure, must she be banned? I mean, if she was playing a game, or hope for non-banning, she would have hidden it better.

Oh this is all a bit snarky.
Its a self-link, but there was no attempt to dupe anyone, can't we just leave it at that? It's not like there was any attempt to pump anyone of cash or Minute Maid vouchers (LOL).

To be honest, it's a sweet idea; I approve of the sentiment entirely. If this gets deleted for the self-linking, maybe someone will repost it.

Well, since this is all so civil, how about we do the unheard of, and judge the site on its merits? Self-link, or no.
Frankly, the site seems sparse. The "gift ideas" seem to leave most people with much of any useful ideas for giving. If this is intended to be a serious attempt to promote the idea, why isn't this fleshed out more? Or, is this really only about selling the book?
I like warm fuzzy stuff, I like the idea. That the site leaves me questioning the motivation is unfortunate.
