Because everyone needs a little tightening now and then.

Documenting the spectacular failure of individuals and institutions to function at acceptable levels. Since this past February, a guy in New York City, his girlfriend in Washington, DC and their friends scattered across he Eastern Seaboard have been trying to tighten things up around here. While they mostly point out the foibles of others, they never miss an opportunity to extol the virtues of those worth emulating. The inaugural post; the theme song. Their posts are obvious, hilarious, gross, nostalgic, grammatical, political (and politico), fashionable, medical, vegetable, religious, frustrating, oh and Papyrus sucks.
This post was deleted for the following reason: The whole "don't self-link or you'll get your post deleted and your account banned" thing isn't exactly a minor policy point around here. -- cortex
What's the current policy on self links?

Sure is, Armitage, but you'll notice I'm one of 21 possible contributors. And most of my posts suck anyway. I thought some of you all might find it interesting.

Maybe you should post this to projects, then.

/shrug ... At best it's like 1/21th of a self-link. But I just can't get myself as wound up about the whole "OMFGSELFLINKS" thing as some people can; as long as the posts are good, I don't think they're going to bring about Armageddon and/or the demise of MeFi (as if there's a difference). But rules is rules, I suppose, and I guess this is kinda borderline.
Liked the site, though, except that there's way too much stuff on the front page. Your load time could use a little tightening.
Fun stuff, anyway.

While I completely understand and agree why self-posting is lame, I did not realize there was any such rule or policy about it. I've been trying to dig something up about said protocol specifically as it relates to MeFi, but have only come across discussions like this one.
In all honesty, I meant this as a nod to my 20 pals, not myself -- I didn't start the blog. So, you all decide: if you want me to take it down, I will. Otherwise, blast all you like. The Tighten Up Report really is pretty good, though. It'd be a shame to pass it by because you think poorly of my posting etiquette.
And, thanks for the note on load time, Kadin. That's exactly the point -- I/we need to tighten-up.

That site is incredibly obnoxious. Don't link to your blog on Metafilter, and really don't link to your blog on Metafilter if your blog is just a whole heap of petty bitching about stuff you don't like.

At the point where suggestions like this are being made to the original poster, it's pretty clear we're dealing with a self-link.
