Doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo...

It's easy with the excessive shopping, TV specials, nonstop music, etc. but tomorrow we honor one of mankind's most important people. A man who told parables to the masses of how the meek shall inherit the earth, how to serve man, and how to face our own personal demons. People have built monuments to him, even died in his name. I am, of course, referring to Rod Serling (born 12/25/1924). Merry Serlingmas!
I'll be lighting a candle for James Brown who died last Christmas day...

Personally, I celebrate Bogartmus, born exactly 25 years earlier. I also spell Serling without the t. Here's looking at you, Zone.

I didn't know that. And I watched Treasure Of The Sierra Madre today. God, Dobbs was an asshole.

Who is this Rod Sterling you speak of? Otherwise, well done.

(Our young son is named Sterling, and after his birth more than one person said: "Like Rod Sterling?" Not quite ...) But a happy Serlingmas to all!

Take comfort, champthom, for you are not alone. Many, many people at one time or another have made that very same mistake.
Of course, you are probably the only one to commit the mistake to writing, in a relatively exhaustive MeFi FPP on the man...

Your post title is sheer perfection, however.

May we gently taunt you about the misspelling as long as it lasts? And -- very nice FPP!

Merry xmas, champthon. Serling-ified for posterity, gentle taunts left intact because Rod would have dug it.

Explain!
You misspelled his username, which was, of course, perfect in the current context of moderator spelling repairs! It's champthom.
/gentle reminder for reason for gentle taunt
