Global Cooling Sucks!

Boy, global cooling sure sucks, doesn't it?
At least even in the midst of a crisis there is still some happiness to be had.
Everyone drive your cars to work so we can warm things up a bit!
This post was deleted for the following reason: Cherry-picking six run-of-the-mill weather blurbs and op-eds does not add up to good post, even if you drive your tongue clear through your cheek and out the other side. -- cortex
I'm glad you didn't editorialize at all.

I know that something here sucks, and I don't think it is global cooling.

Crap. I meant to delete it, thinking a mefi post would be better. It seems even with one's tongue planted firmly in cheek people can't take a joke that offends their PC sensibilities.

I'll never understand how people don't get that responding to criticism by lashing out defensively always GivesWell.

The best part was the "WICKED LOCAL SEARCH" field at the top of the page.

For the last time, you fuckwit: GLOBAL WARMING DOESN'T ALWAYS MEAN THE WEATHER GETS WARMER.
Global warming destabilizes climate systems, which leads to unpredictable and extreme weather events. Which includes both record cold and hot temperatures.
"The Arctic is screaming."

Ugh. I can't take a joke that makes me read five editorials about local weather.

Offended? Hardly. But when given the choice between
- Assume FPP is sarcastic, assume poster is sane, remain bored
or
- Assume FPP is serious, assume poster is insane, READY THE BATTLEMENTS FOR A BEATDOWN
you know which I choose.

Civility is boring. Aggression is much more fun.

Well, I assumed your editorial slant was tongue-in-cheek irony, but it's still just a bunch of lame stories about local weather events. I can only be thankful that none of them were youtube videos.

General question: How does one determine the difference between a regular person making a joke that sounds like a very common nutjob theme and just a plain nutjob?

What a marvelous excuse for throwing f-bombs around like dollar bills at a strip club. I'm sure it was well-deserved since scientists unanimously agree that global warming is real.

So, what in the FPP indicates that it is a joke? And by bitching about "PC sensibilities" I think you've forfeited any hope of civil discourse (wait... what.. you want civil discussion on a post-identified jokey post? Not been around here long eh?)
