Is it any accident that National National Awareness Month Awareness Month and Black History Month -- that most maligned of National Awareness Months -- are both in the same month? I think not.
I teach high school English to a largely African-American population. When my students ask me if I'm doing anything special for Black history month, I remind them how we've been reading African-American texts throughout the year sofar and it would be kind of ridiculous to confine everything to one month. Then they half of them nod and half of them look at me funny.

I feel terrible at not previously being aware of National National Awareness Month Awareness Month. I will make sure to be aware of my awareness or lack of awareness of it in the future.

As long as being aware of it means I don't have to do any of it, I am happy to support Math Awareness Month.

Awareness Months are for causes too wimpy to insist on EDUCATION or KNOWLEDGE Months. Thus contributing to a fiction-based society.
For me, this is WordPress PlugIn and CSS Hack Education Month, and I am getting schooled.

You know, a lot of the "Awareness Months" listed are not, in fact, national, but are merely regional. So, technically, National National Awareness Month Awareness Month is a bit of a misnomer, as we are being made aware not of National Awareness Months, but of National and Regional, State, or Local Awareness months.
