The Nexus of Politics and Terror.

This post was deleted for the following reason: If you think this is important, you might want to Make An Effort instead of a nearly blind link to a MSNBC video that is minutes of waiting before it's even clear wtf is going on. Seriously.... if you care about what is going on and you want to share it with someone, don't make a FPP that looks like you were running to catch a bus. -- jessamyn

I'd like to beg the moderators to let this OlbermannFilter post stand, but I'd just be accused of conflict of interest over my minor connections to msnbc.com. As opposed to his various well-hyped Special Comments, this is a very fleshed-out report with a lot of perspective (instead of just calling bullshit on Bush, he's documenting it). But still, why was it only #3 on his daily "Countdown"? Did both Britney and Lindsey break a nail that day?

plain black screen? Is that the joke, or is there something wrong with my computer?

No transcript? And Wendell for the thread (providing details, instead of homunculus in the FPP)? This isn't Beat the Clock, it's MetaFilter.

I'm with you wendell but I'm not really holding my breath.
It is a good summation of the propaganda used by the Bush administration and seemed far less shouty-from-the-rooftops than so many other Olbermann Special Comments. Maybe if the post had been fleshed out a little.

and yeah, #3 on 'the countdown', because "Country Largest economy in the world led around by its nose like a bull to slaughter" just ain't as compelling as... um...

Hey is this an Olbermann video ? BECAUSE OLBERMANN IS THE NEW DAWKINS DICK-NĂ„RD!

If not, sorry about that.

Well, it's an easy argument to make, no? For about two years straight, there was nothing but awful news for the administration, day after day. So, take the times when the threat level was raised and look at what happened the few days before that. Invariably, you will find some evidence of the administration being made to look like idiots who are incapable of running this country.

There will be a full transcript in a little hidden place on the MSNBC.COM site over here, but they won't be finished typing up the Thursday Night show until Friday afternoon.

So what he's saying is that the media never fails to fall for the bullshit that the administration feeds it. Hey, look at the shiny bobble!

...and the population at large never fails to fall for the drivel that the media packages for them.

Safari is a nexus and politics and terror.

How many times do you think Olbermann has seen Network? I say a billion.

Olbermann is da bomb. I'd totally do him.

Network....wow.

That movie, one of my favorites, seems almost quaint in an era of Judge Whomever, Survivor, Olbermann, O'Reilly, GWOT and security theater, etc. Contemporary reality is far more outrageous than a black comedy from 1976.

Wait. Someone needs to *make* them look like idiots? I thought they did that on their own. Man, those guys can't do anything right.

idiots who are incapable of running this country

oh, they're capable of running it--running it into the ground. (slaps knee, without much conviction...)

Invasion of Iraq was key part of Cheney's top-secret energy plan.

President Bush repeatedly described the anthrax attacks as "a second wave of terrorist attacks upon our country."
Four Americans have died as a result of these acts of terrorism8230;The Postal Service and the FBI have offered a reward of up to $1 million for information leading to the arrest and the conviction of the anthrax terrorists8230;We do not yet know who sent the anthrax 8212; whether it was the same terrorists who committed the attacks on September the 11th, or whether it was the 8212; other international or domestic terrorists. We do know that anyone who would try to infect other people with anthrax is guilty of an act of terror8230;I8217;m proud of our citizens8217; calm and reasoned response to this ongoing terrorist attack
Republicans under Bush are 0-2 in preventing terrorist attacks inside the United States, and 0-2 in punishing the people behind the attacks (at least until the Guantanamo show trials are over).

sfts2: "...and the population at large never fails to fall for the drivel that the media packages for them."

And metafilter never fails to snark at the population who falls for the drivel.

Also...

wendell: "I'd like to beg the moderators to let this OlbermannFilter post stand, but I'd just be accused of conflict of interest over my minor connections to msnbc.com. That's MR. Bush, wendell...
