Stare at the dot for 30 seconds. Then, without moving your eyes, move the mouse over the image. The image will look like it's in color until you move your eyes. (How make your own | More examples)
This post was deleted for the following reason: This is not actually a double post, it's just an amaaaaazing illuuuuusion. -- cortex

That's pretty cool!
(You know, the problem with the whole "double" thing: this is something I would never use search here to look for. Why would I? What would I be looking for? I don't cruise the back pages of Metafilter looking for random cool stuff, as the web is ephemeral, and half the stuff in the archives is probably dead. So, if this is a double, how would I have ever seen it?)

I remember seeing this a year or two ago, and then saw it three times today. The internet is weird like that.

Because it makes sense. You don't even have to do a Google for it. Tag: opticalillusion (also used for this post). CTRL-F "Spanish". Pops right up on my screen. Total time taken to find duplicate: around 15 seconds.

I think maxwelton is saying as a reader (not a poster) there's no reason to go back and search through random tags in the mefi archive for these kinds of links.
Very cool, I kept trying different things to see if it was a website trick other than the optical illusion.
