Violent struggle, but cute.

Weewar is a hex-map, turn-based wargame you can play in your browser. Or, if you don't want to play, there's an API so you can write your own weeWOPR AI to do it for you.

Thanks, looks interesting.

Empire meets Web 2.0.
I'm actually working on a version of this genre but it's been tough sledding.

Yeah, seems there is a very limited set of what you can do without a pro account.
And fuck these sites that seem free, only to tell you after giving out your email that no, you have only signed up for some crippled mini-preview of the "pro" version. Fuck that.

My friend got me playing this, though I'm not liking it. Of course, that doesn't have anything to do with the game itself, which is sort of cute though glacial in pace, but because he and a friend played like 10 games before inviting me. You can imagine how well I'm doing.

Weewar: Thanks for tricking me into not paying you to play a browser game it took a week to make after transcribing the rules of heroscape (as near as I can tell without paying someone). I look forward to your spam.
kdice: I always loved how mind-blowingly exciting risk was, but I hated all that strategy. Plus, I need the illusion of advancement/acievement and social interaction to enjoy computer games. I also have to give props to programmers here for hacking out the (to my knowledge) world's first turn based flash game whose playability is uncertain due to lag! I also look forward to your spam, illustrious brothers!
I'm not this sarcastic.
I'm not this sacastic.

Looks like an Advance Wars ripoff to me. They just switched from squares to hexes.
