The parodies have begun ... Gina Gershon parodies Palin for Funny or Die. Language potentially NSFW.
Since the other Palin forum is imploding under it's own weight, perhaps here is where we share the political humour/satire?

I didn't think it was that funny -- stuff on Funny or Die usually isn't -- but she's pretty good at the Palin mannerisms.

Come to think of it, the only good parody on mrs. Palin I've seen, is a cartoon by the Swedish artist Riber Hansson. Also, because the proverbial 'bull in a china shop' becomes an 'elephant in a china shop' in some languages other than English.

I loved it but I love Gina Gershon so I'm biased. anyway, the thing about not believing in global warming because it's freezing outside is probably, sadly, spot on.

That wasn't really all that funny. Oh, okay, I'll give on the "If she shoots you in the face, its because she was aiming for it" line (on preview: scooped by The White Hat! Damn!), but that's it. [Oh, our comically criminal VPOTUS and potential-VPOTUS-to-be. Comedy gold...if you substitute 'trepidation' for 'gold' and 'dire' for 'comedy'.]
On that note, I think we should all pause and read this short, yet wise message by MeFi's own John Scalzi.
Actually I take it back. It's really not funny. Gershon can still rock a flag bikini with the best of 'em, though.

I like what Scalzi has to say. And I really want to believe it. But with the MSM drooling over America's First Hockey-Mom, the eventuality of some sort of October Surprise involving Iran or Bin Laden, and a few truck-loads here and there of uncounted ballots from Dem counties in Florida and Ohio on election night, color me scared. Well and truly scared.
She makes Dan Quayle look like Kurt freakin' Goedel.

I think Scalzi's piece is about 34 hours out of date. The MSM is starting to catch on to McCain's BS parade and they realize they're being made to look like complete idiots by Rick Davis

That has a completely different connotation though, the bull in a china shop is a transient thing, a beast out of place for the moment, but the elephant in a porcelain world is a tragic figure, out of place and condemned to leave a wake of destruction wherever it should tread. The bull can leave the shop, and more china can be acquired.

And for the whole next week everybody panics and they're on the defensive and they think he's made a huge mistake and the Republicans keep attacking them and demanding they apologise? In the end, of course, it just means that the idea that his opponent was stupid got planted firmly in the public mind, and Bartlet had engineered it so that it was the Republicans who'd made it the issue. He even used a straight-talkin' all-American phrase - "a .22 caliber mind in a .357 caliber world" - that he'd never normally use, just to make sure the idea stuck.
Well, that's what just happened with the pig thing.
