Jesus FUCKING Christ I am so sick of Palin. Why does everyone who supports Obama insist on bringing her name up and give them so much undue attention? Don't you realize what a horrible idea this is? This is exactly what they banked on. Obama's campaign has been completely derailed by the GOP's choice in VP. Yes, let's keep giving them free publicity for the next 2 months. It doesn't even matter that McCain has some-odd $80 million lead if Democrats keep giving them free advertisement/name recognition.

A number of prominent Latin Americanists entertained the idea, upon seeing the Wold Trade Center attacks, that the action might have been an act of revenge for the US coup that plunged Chile into nearly 2 decades of dark despair and terror. There was a recent post on CounterPunch about the ongoing effort to convict the specific people who killed Victor Jara. Victor, your voice will never be forgotten...
