An alternative Christian view on the legality of abortion (in fact ALL political activism)?

Nobody has to tell you that the topic of abortion's legality is a divisive issue (and who needs another FPP on that — or lolXian?) but check out the (scriptural) argument made in the 4th comment to this Dangerous Idea blog post. (Sorry, can't seem to link directly to a single comment). It boils down to this: (A) Legality is irrelevant to a Christian's choices/actions + (B) the only person's actions a Christian needs to be concerned with are their own. "Obama's Fascinating (2004) Interview with Cathleen Falsani" seems to walk a similarly thin line. In it Obama says: ". . . in my own public policy, I'm very suspicious of religious certainty expressing itself in politics."
Might this signal a move away from single issue, politically-active Christian fundamentalism in America?
This post was deleted for the following reason: You posted about the religious rhetoric of a comment on a blog? And tagged on an editorial sting? This is not a good idea for a post. -- cortex
Because the group of people who have been single issue, politically active Christian fundamentalists all voted for Obama and are going to pay attention to his 2004 interview suddenly, right?

You begin your post by saying "who needs another FPP on that?"
And then you do a post on . . . that.

Your signal is my noise. The aforementioned quotes have been around for centuries. If Christians were going to act in accordance with said Scripture, they probably would have done so by now.

This is highly illogical.

Rarely is the fourth comment down on a blog post a signal of anything.
