We should all get together and make a country in which everybody can eat turkey whenever he pleases

Sarah Palin pardons a turkey. If you eat meat (or turkey), you shouldn't be squeamish about where that meat comes from, that's a given. Still, that doesn't mean you should give an on-camera interview about the economy and which government programs should be on the "chopping block" (Nice one, unseen reporter) ten feet away from turkeys being slaughtered. Whoopsies. Well, for the record, I cannot see Ambrosia Voyeur from my house.

Doesn't it technically have to be posted three times to be a turkey?

I don't get it. What are they doing to that turkey? It looks like he's sticking it headfirst into a funnel. What is going on?
Also, I don't know wtf that MSNBC talking head is getting all smug and holy about - I'm sure he's going to go home and stuff himself silly with dead mashed up bird.

Grisly details to follow:
You are right. It is a funnel. The bird goes in the funnel head-first. The funnel restricts the bird's movements. The opening at the bottom is just big enough for the head and neck to stick through. The bird's throat is cut and most of the blood drains, then it's time for the next bird.
