This is really cute and my girlfriend's six and seven year-old would love this. But there appears to be only three examples and I need to keep them occupied for at least thirty minutes if I'm going to polish off that bottle of Chianti we (me and my girlfriend, that is) opened last night.

dung
O.E. dung "manure," from PIE *dhengh- "covering" (cf. Lith. dengti "to cover," O.Ir. dingim "I press"); the word recalls the ancient Gmc. custom (reported by Tacitus) of covering underground shelters with manure to keep in warmth in winter.posted by pracowity at 11:13 AM on June 5, 2009

In Toronto they sold animal dung from the zoo for use in your garden. "Zoo Poo". Seemed like a good way to make a little cash.

I am humiliated to have gotten the first one wrong (I guessed zebra for giraffe.) I work at a zoo, damn it, I should know these things. I did poorly on a "guess who pooped what?" biofacts cart the other day, too. Suddenly I feel unqualified for my job.
I can say with some authority that tiger poop is the single foulest substance I've ever encountered and I'm darn glad dealing with it is not part of a normal day for me.

What a strange world we live in. Sex has to be swept under the carpet and avoided at all costs, but shit and vomit are standard children's fare.

Correct! Giraffe poop falls from very high up and scatters when it lands.

Fun. I aced it but that's because I had the good fortune to be on a safari in Africa last year and on one of our first rides, we took a break for big five turd tutoring. There's nothing quite like finding fresh rhino shit in the morning, you know it's going to be an interesting day...
