What do Lloyd Price (circa 1959), RL Burnside (late 1980s/ early 1990s, from the compilation Well... Well... Well ), Cliff Edwards (1928), and Nick Cave (live, 1996) have in common? Oh, man. When you pointed at Projects, I thought a bunch of MeFite musicians had covered "Stagger Lee." I almost fainted dead away.

GRAR! I posted in accident. I was working on elaborating, but hit post instead of preview. MeFite Paul Slade's site, linked above as Murder Ballads, Secret London and more deserves better than this.
