Controversy has surrounded the overall vision of the new Hobbit movie In that it's stopping us getting a Mountains of Madness movie. WTF Del Toro, I know this will make you a mountain of cash and shit, but we want Shoggoths!

This is a double, and PJ is still producing and screenwriting the film.

1998 is calling, but I don't have a landline any more.

Also I'll see your Nimoy and raise you a Shatner doing Rocketman.

Also... this is far, far better: Shatner and Joe Jackson: Common People.

As big a fan of Shatner as I am, I find Nimoy's music career far more interesting. Nimoy took it pretty seriously, and so there is more to listen to, and it's all ... so ... odd.

Wake me up when it's Leonard Cohen doing that song, and then I'll be interested.

I dunno, the Shatner version of Common People has always stuck me as a dim echo of the era where Shatner would pull shit like this, with a bit too much knowing nudge-nudge self mockery. Possibly that's just my annoyance at it being the only version of the song that Yanquis know speaking.

Astro Zombie - Oh yes. See for instance his version of If I Have a Hammer. He had a very serious, very hippyish folksy thing going on. I actually kind of like the both of them, they kind of balance each other out.
