Hoping to boost attendance and broaden its base of supporters, the Metropolitan Museum of Art launched a new initiative this week that allows patrons, for the first time ever, to touch the classic paintings in its revered collection.

It being a recession, I believed it. It also helped that this was on Metafilter, where the Onion is not allowed. (But it's okay! We all make mistakes!)

I had a chuckle.
The horse I like to flog: single-link posts to the NYT are really, really lame in my book. We have them all the time. As I've said before, chances are that the cover story of the Sunday NYT Magazine is going to be interesting. We don't need someone to post it every week.
I think this post gets deleted, we should all rally to my way of thinking and flag the SL NYT posts. Then again, if it's deleted, who will hear my clarion call?
