A 25 year old woman has taken photographs of her cervix every day throughout an entire menstrual cycle so that she could see the differences day to day. The photos are presented as part of the The Beautiful Cervix Project. Possibly NSFW
The photo gallery has contributions from a 23 year old pregnant woman, a 35 year old woman who has undergone 4 vaginal births and a 63 year old, post-menopausal woman.

This post was deleted for the following reason: I did like this the first time around -- jessamyn
[more inside], again.

Ah..that would explain why the search didn't find it..the old domain is dead. Mods, delete at your discretion (but I would at least update the links on the original post to reflect the new address)

The "money quote"...
I re-used a plastic speculum (order one here) and macro function of normal digital camera (and a very talented boyfriend with a headlamp).

After I saw the post the first time, I asked my gyno for a pair of duck lips. Too bad I cannot post the outcome. Out. Come. HA. Mods?? Yeah. Delete.

Hmmm this might be some new definition of the word "beautiful" which is not the same as the one I grew up with.

Eee gads, women parts! Run! No, better yet, stay and snark!
It's a cervix, people. You passed through one when you were born.

That don't really make it "beautiful."

I don't know about you, but I didn't get a good look on my way out.

As a woman, I have to admit, I have about as much desire to look at my cervix as I do my appendix. It doesn't bother me and, other than the annual exam, I don't bother it.
Does that make me a bad feminist?

My favorite part is the time lapse of the cervix growing a beard.

the plums
that were in
your cervix

If I had a penny for every time I saw a high resolution photograph of a cervix during the menstrual cycle, I would have EXACTLY ONE PENNY. THANKS.
But let's be honest with each other. Dicks look pretty weird, too. As a species, we are great and a lot of fun and gross and hilarious and beautiful. In a weird way.

I had higher hopes for the quality of comments on MeFi compared to the ones on reddit where I originally saw this a few weeks back.
Meh. It's a whole world of lowered expectations, I guess.

Just a typical day -- eat a bowl of Crispix while consulting a prolix appendix and listening to a remix, then photograph your cervix.

Exactly. It's nothing to freak out over.

Um. No, I didn't. (Neither did my kids, for that matter.)

This is a urethra, people. You passed through one when you were conceived. (Beautiful?)
also you pass urine through one sometimes

I think these pictures are great. I've seen detailed photos of hearts and lungs and all of that good stuff, but never this. Some freaked me out a little, too, but eh. No more than other bodily fluid related thing would. I was more surprised than anything, which is kind of sad.
I wish more girls were introduced to photos like this, it seems women are told that they should be freaked out by their bodies (which are unclean and smelly and disgusting and...) and I think more familiarity with one's own anatomy would help avert that idea.
