Korean xenophobia is pretty well known, but lately, things are getting worse, "The president of the Association of English Teachers in Korea received an anonymous e-mail Tuesday containing death threats and accusing him of committing sex crimes after rumors of a former member of ATEK were posted online."
This post was deleted for the following reason: If this is worth posting about, it needs some more background and less editorializing. -- cortex
Woah, my browser freaked out a little when I clicked that link.

It's a bit of a leap from "...received an anonymous e-mail Tuesday containing death threats" to "Korean xenophobia is pretty well known, but lately, things are getting worse".

Is this anything like the pediatrician in England who had to flee her home and enter police protection after having bricks thrown through her windows, because people were too stupid to tell the difference between pediatrician and pedophile?

Korean xenophobia is pretty well known, but
Yea, you generally shouldn't editorialize in FPPs.

Those of us not in Korea need more info to understand why this is a big deal rather than a disturbing regional news item.

Koreans have very good reason to be scared of spacealiens; they put stuff in your butt.

just a sliver: anti-American setiment in Korea, the Hermit Kingdom.
There is a complex layer cake of social, cultural, historical, economical, you-name-it-cal reasons why Koreans (and Korea, the nation) tend toward xenophobia (though they wouldn't call it that or see it as malicious). Sort of shitty to say it that way in the post, though.

Needs the (NOT RACIST) tag. OG parens instead of brackets due to the subject material.
