You may want to add (mp3) to that second link

It is - it's so you can easily download the mp3's, I'm guessing.

I linked to the RSS feed so you can see each and every object. The lectures are mp3 podcasts you can stream.

I've been really enjoying this, when I catch them. Not filled in the gaps in the broadcasts I've heard yet though.

More info on it here

Early on, he used a Clovis spearpoint to expound on the peopling of the new world, and that stage of humanity in general.

Problem is, he was pretty unequivocal about saying that the Clovis people were the first human inhabitants of North and South America, when recent finds (i. e. Meadowcroft, Monte Verde) give lie to that assertion.

So I am downloading that series, still, but assuming that in other areas he may be similarly uncritical.

If anyone's in London, the BM have got a self-guided walking tour map, so you can easily see all the objects featured in the series. There's a fair chance of being able to touch some related artifacts if you go at weekends, too: there was a touch table with a less-well-preserved Olduvai hand axe*, which at a million-and-a-half years old makes you feel a bit giddy when you find the thumb hole. Brilliant. Takes about 4 hours to do the 25 so far.

* and a nervous-looking young lady who occasionally says "hold it over the table! hold it over the table!" whilst trying to be pleasant and not hit people.

Wow, when I subscribed to this weeks ago based on my boyfriend's recommendations, I thought for sure that the reason I'd previously heard about it was here.

I enjoy them so much that I kept meaning to search out the thread and figure out who posted it to thank them.

Guess my boyfriend gets all the credit.

But in other words, highly recommended by me.
