Why You Should Never Pay For Online Dating

"That's pay dating in a nutshell."
This post was deleted for the following reason: I don't know if there's anything sketchy going on here or if you're just monomaniacal about the okcupid posts but this is definitely getting to be too much of a pattern. -- cortex
Interesting, but Blue Pepsi big time, as at bottom this is aimed at getting folks to sign up with the rival posting website.

So do you, like, work for OkCupid or something? Because your three posts to metafilter tend to make me think you have some connection to the subject matter.

Where'd I put that pitchfork? It's around here somewhere.
Anyway...doesn't the existence of the 'last online' feature void this whole thing? Or do match and eharmony fake that field for all users?

There are some flaws in that analysis, too. For instance, the link claims that your odds of getting married are better in "real life" than through pay dating sites. But it supports this claim by using a statistic that "x" number of people using a pay dating services, when in all probabilty, many couple who do stay together probably don't inform the service at all. But even if one excused this, it's a lousy commercial, and I hope this user is banned for such an obvious shill.
