The Butch Factor

The Butch Factor is a 2009 documentary examining the question of what it means to be gay and to be a man. The movie's website. A sneak preview link. The full movie online to watch. (1h15m) (I found it easier to click "download" and watch off my hard drive -- YMMV)
This post was deleted for the following reason: The movie link does seem a little on the explicitly sketchy, yeah, and unfortunately without that there's not really a post here. Best of intentions I'm sure, hippybear, but this probably isn't a great idea. -- cortex
Hot Gay Dude wrote three days ago: NICE!
I will watch it, but I'm with The Whelk on this one, probably.

from the site:
"- Our Rights Policy
Stagevu respects the rights of content distributors and replies promptly to any requests for the removal of copyrighted content, as required by the DMCA. In the case that you find any unauthorized content on Stagevu, and are the rights holder or a representative, please contact us with the URLs of the video pages."
So these guys are just posting whatever they want and dealing with it if somebody notices?
This is not going to last.
I'm going to flag this as it goes against policy and somebody's going to do it.
Sorry if I'm wrong and thanks for posting this.

Actually, this policy is pretty much the same as Google's policy for Youtube. Any user can post something - but if it's copyrighted, it can be taken down. In fact, that's how most of the Internet operates.

While this tries to play through some sort of browser plug-in, that's just loading an avi over http - you can grab it yourself quite easily. I don't know that I should be direct-linking bandwidth intensive content, but it was as easy as right-clicking and selecting 'Copy URL' in Firefox on Ubuntu...

i know it's youtube's policy, but i know the mods don't care for us to link to this sort of thing.
they you post bittorrent links for the same reasons.
the site is offering iron man 2 & sex in the city 2 as well.
not good metafiltering, i think...
but maybe i'm being a pooper of the party...

Yeah, sorry, hippybear. If this wasn't an art house film/documentary, I wouldn't otherwise care, but this feels a bit dodgy.
