Hipster Hitler is a newwebcomic that re-imagines Hitler, post-ironically. Hipster Hitler is a twittererer, and wants you to know about his workout routine.

I don't care how much you hate hipsters, or love Hitler, this is a funny comic. Sadly, there are only 3 so far.

I prefer to play "ID the bodybuilder". There's Arnie, obviously. I also suspect that Göring is shopped onto Ronnie Coleman. Yeeeah budddaaay.

I disagree. The first one is pretty good. The second one doesn't really have a punchline, the third one is a one-panel comic stretched into multiple frames. Also, I don't know why it bothers me to have the characters acknowledge the anachronism, but it does.

I find this post-ironically hilarious. Which means I don't actually find it funny, unless it turns out that finding it at least somewhat funny is necessary to maintaining my delicate social status. In which case I'll pretend to find it funny with such regularity that it'll become its own kind of metajoke, which is actually the part I'll be laughing at when I'm pretending to laugh at the jokes in the comics themselves. Unless this turns out to be something I don't ever need to pay attention to again.

The two comics are funny. The two comics aren't really FPP material, though. IMHO.

The first one's hilarious. The second one, I can't figure out if I think it's funny. Seriously, I chuckled and then wondered if said chuckle was ironic. And yeah, the third one probably should have been one or two panels.
I think it's really likely that all future strips of this will basically be iterations of the same joke. I hope I'm wrong.

I sort of thought post-irony was supposed to reflect that DFW thing about how reflexive irony is 'entertaining and effective' and at the same time an agent of 'great despair and stasis in U.S. culture,' that 'irony tyrannizes us,' that the next real rebels in U.S. culture will be those who 'dare to back away from ironic watching, who have the childish gall actually to endorse single-entendre values. Who treat old untrendy human troubles and emotions in U.S. life with reverence and conviction. Who eschew self-consciousness and fatigue. [...] The new rebels might be the ones willing to risk the yawn, the rolled eyes, the cool smile, the nudged ribs, the parody of gifted ironists, the "How banal." Accusations of sentimentality, melodrama. Credulity. Willingness to be suckered by a world of lurkers and starers who fear gaze and ridicule above imprisonment without law. Who knows.'

Perhaps someday we look look upon the Hipster as a sort of folk hero; one so powerful he could even transform Adolf Hitler from a mass murdering monster into a petulant little scamp.
But right now it is just lazy humor.

All of the people saying good things about this are being placed on my mental list of People Who Have Exceptionally Low Bars.
It's a shame because the first one was amusing. And if that were a one-off strip in a better, non-Hipster Hitler strip, that strip might have been good. "Azerbaijan" was a good off-beat punchline. But that was literally the only joke the creators of this strip thought of. The "juice" joke has been told way better before, probably for fifty years; both attempts at a punchline in that strip were horrid. Like, I work with gifted thirteen-year-olds, who have a penchant for attempting "quirky" humor featuring tweeness and the word "fuck", and that strip seems like it's come right from their not-particularly-noteworthy minds.
Pac-Man? What's funny about Hitler's cohorts knowing Pac-Man will exist 40 years from now? Nothing! What's funny about Hitler liking Pac-Man? Nothing! Unless you're thirteen years old and hard-on for hating "hipsters" that Hitler's use of the word "vintage" is enough to trigger your hate-jism.
Also, from a design standpoint, "FIRST PAGE" takes me to the latest strip and "LATEST PAGE" takes me to the first strip. Not that these are strictly "pages", unless the plan is to turn Hipster Hitler into a strip with an arc instead of a series of numb one-offs, so the terminology would be wrong even if the links were right.
A lame comic with terrible attempts at "irony" and awful artwork? THIS MUST BE THE WORK OF FUCKING HIPSTERS HURT THEM WITH KNIVES
