Sean Michaels, of the great mp3 blog Said the Gramophone, writes of art, cataphiles and the unauthorized, "hidden" restoration of decaying public sites in underground (and above ground) Paris.

Before this is deleted I want to say that Sean is great and he said some very nice things about my defunct mp3blog, which made me feel awesome.

I believe the underground group in Paris is profiled a bit in the 2007 film "Urban Explorers: Into the Darkness" (available on Netflix instant play, if you have it).

On one of the best Halloweens ever, a bunch of cavers (~40?) entered the Austin storm sewers, walked upstream about a mile, set up a slide projector and had a slide show, the centerpiece of which was a clandestine snap of Floyd Collins lying in state in Crystal Cave - one of the holy grails of cave photography.
