Megway won't change the world as we know. The technologies that were developed to make Megay possible could though! The dynamic stabilization (comfy shoes, inner ear) and the pretty colors (hair dye) could have quite an impact on cities of the future!
You just watch!

Yeah, sorry about that. We, um, underestimated the amount of traffic that this thing would get. The movie is mirrored now and load balanced between a few servers, so it should be speedier.

I'm confused. Earlier publicity/hype showed the Megway in different colors [and, I might add, suggested different capabilities and business plans]. Is Henry Ford black going to be the only one offered? And this was a very early spy picture taken during some sort of test drive gone horribly wrong. Have those behavioral quirks been ironed out by now?

I wasn't going to say anything, but I wne to make lunch, and couldn't get it off my mind. The parody was done by two people who are Friends of MeFi™ and by Matt himself. It's not sycophantic to say you found it amusing, if you did, and it's just plain rude and unpleasant to whine about bootlicking and post cleverclever mock-yawns.
At least make a attempt to be civil, damnit, people. If you didn't find it funny, fair enough. Move on. There's no need to piss all over both the people who made the thing (who I reiterate, are part of this community, and if nothing else deserve at least common courtesy, if nothing else) and the people who enjoyed it.
This should be in MeTa perhaps, but I don't think it merits much discussion. Boorish, childish behaviour like this is just the sort of thing that eventates in our weekly handwringing MeTasessions about 'how bad things are getting around here.'

At this point, you can't be surprised that some people are so contrarian and "too cool for school" that they showed up to piss on the whole thing. Maybe it's my Catholic upbringing, but what better way is there to pass time than make people defensive for enjoying something?
I loved the parody. Droll, hilarious, and creepy. The funniest part was Jason wearing a safety helmet while the Megway doesn't.
