Barry White to Serenade Sharks: Sharks are to be serenaded . . . at The National Sea Life Centre in Birmingham in an experiment to help them mate. His love songs and other romantic tunes will be pumped in to tanks containing dogfish, starry smooth hounds and tope. Just in time for Valentine's Day ;) Thanks again to the fabulous Nutlog.

That'll do it, though I wouldn't bet on the tope, being a surly and sexless bastard. Cheers ryanshepard and indeed fabulous Nutlog which I, in my utter nerdness, have up till now been referring to as plep...

Maybe the tope isn't surly and sexless. Could be it's just a drunk:

tope: To drink (liquor) habitually and excessively or engage in such drinking. [Possibly from obsolete tope, interjection used in proposing a toast.]

tope: A small, rough-skinned, widely distributed shark (Galeorhinus galeus) having an elongated conical snout.

Brings a whole new perspective to "drinks like a fish", doesn't it?

You owe me a freshly-made Margarita, valuable nasal membranes and a new monitor, sir.

Heh. Cool.
I come here to learn, mostly.

He already sang to snakes, so it makes sense.

Barry White is certainly a fine choice. Personally, I think that they could have done better with Sade. Works on me and I'm a bit of a shark.

Sade's too good for sharks. 'Sides, she's more of a pilchard, herself. But she works for me, too, so who am I to tell you what to do?
