Kollaboration freestyle dance clip - this video clip offers nearly 2 minutes of some of the most amazing and intriguing dance you've likely seen in awhile. It's a clip from Kollaboration, a Korean-American talent show sponsored by prokreation. The show's aim is to break down Asian stereotypes. thanks milk & cookies.
jeez, I wish I could dance like that! wait no, I wish could dance. period.
the breaking club here at queen's U is incredible to watch; they have a website, but it only has pics, no videos. still, the shots of the qkids doing freezes are damn impressive.

The part where the second dancer goes into a kind of stop-motion jerky style (it starts when he rolls up his sleeve) was so convincing that I thought the video clip itself was stuttering. Only a glance at some hands clapping in the audience showed that the video was going at normal speed.
Amazing.

The second guy doesn't look very Asian... Or is that a stereotype?

Stunned and unable to parry... I've never seen anything like that second guy - I'm wondering if he can use this talent in everyday-situations and if so how?

That was stunning. Absolutely stunning. I wonder what it's like to have a liquid spine and silly putty joints like that...

Bah, unless it's on a Dance Dance Revolution machine, it doesn't count.

Damn impressive. All the more so because body popping often looks like something squeezed into a breakdancing routine simply to give the dancer a breather from the hard stuff.

...Marcel Marceau?
I seriously wonder whether the 'orange guy' has Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome or something like it.

Good f-cking Lord that was unbelievable. The strobe light effect he drops at the end is too much. Incredible.

I think the first guy slinging his cock over his shoulder did wonders to destroy a particular asian stereotype.

It's a Windows media file, but it is not windows only. M$ released MacOSX and Solaris players. And on linux you can use CrossOver (highly recommended).

Crossover

Though I still prefer MPEG or QuickTime.

Oh. My. Goodness.
I'm wishing there were more videos out there, although I'm sure nothing would be as freaking awesome as the stop-motion thing.
The point was to get Asian/Korean Americans and whites together to break down stereotypes? Get the different kids to play together, eh?

Fantastic stuff! As mentioned, the stop-motion dancing was shout-out-loud amazing, but I also loved the part in the beginned of Orange Guy's routine where he spins his hand out, then wrist, then arm, then whole body.
What makes me most happy is the transformation in appearance from geek to cool. I mean, Orange Guy wasn't doing much at first, and I was preparing myself to cringe at his embarassment in front of his peers, but then he just BUSTS OUT. Like some Jr. High geek with the soul of James Brown or something. I love it!

anyone else think Orange Man has the potential to be the next ellen feiss/mahir/random internet celebrity?
and how is it possible that some random guy is 10x better than any other 'pro' body popper I've seen in videos and whatnot? someone should track him down and give him his own DDR sequel.

Breakdancing, popping and locking survived in the hip-hop and rave scenes of the 90's, and seem to be making quite a comeback on their own recently. If you are amazed at a high school talent show of this style, I would highly reccomend going to a show and actually experiencing it, live. With or without a head full of drugs. I would go ahead and suggest Mr Wiggles but his clips section seems to be overloaded right now.
