Everquest claims a child's life,

Everquest claims a child's life, from the fatal neglect of a game-addicted father. Sentenced to 15 years in prison, the deadbeat dad squeezed his 9-month-old son and left him in a utility closet for over 24 hours while he played online. According to the prosecution, his son's crying was distracting him from the game.

I've been addicted to games before, and Everquest definitely has a reputation for being one of the most addictive games ever, but this is just evil.

Anyone whose mindset prevents them from inhibiting an desire to inflict such physical abuse on their own child will probably be triggered by something eventually. If it hadn't been Everquest for this guy, it would have been Quake sometime in the near future. Or watching a football game on TV. Eventually that kid was destined to cry at the wrong time, and make Daddy snap.

It wasn't Everquest.

Fair enough. My lead text was definitely seems to blame the game. Sorry about that. In case the paragraph following isn't clear enough, I'm definitely pointing all fingers at the asshole behind the keyboard.

Hilarious bumper sticker ahoy!: Everquest doesn't kill people, I kill people.

Bad grammar alert. I meant, "My lead text definitely seems to blame the game." Oh, well.

Evil? I think that those are pretty harsh words. I mean, it doesn't sound like he meant to kill the kid. If any thing, I would call him a retard, or certainly a braincase.

Yeah, can't we just get past the concept of "evil"?

Speaking of Everquest...does anyone else find it unplayable? I got it for my mom for Christmas, and everytime we spend a couple hours starting a character, it crashes and all trace of the character vanishes. Not fun. I shudder to think how I'd feel if I'd put in months on a character.

Everquest's stability is just plain evil!

Yeah, can't we just get past the concept of "evil"?

If we somehow discarded the concept of "evil," how would we know who to kill in Everquest?

That story made me ill. It certainly seems that neither this guy nor his wife had their shit together.

Bragg's former wife, Brandy L. Rozier, left their son with Bragg after she lost electricity at her home. She also dropped off Bragg's 4-year-old stepson.

Just what is it about these games that make them so addictive? Friends of mine say that I shouldn't even try playing Asheron's Call as it's unbelievably addictive.

And what compels people to spend a bunch of money to buy online characters?
