Could sharesniffer

Could sharesniffer be the reason I'm getting so many more netbios attempts on my ADSL machine recently?
Humm, this hardly qualify as "news". I cant get the sharesniffer site to load right now, but as far as I understant, it's just another netbios scanner. I saw one of the first in 1997 I think, it was a command line tool named nbtscan invoking nbtstat. Now, there's ton of them, even fast and stable commercial ones like essential nettools, security port scanner, ip-tools, or free ones like networld, share finder, smb scanner, larva, legion... other tools (winfingerprint, tcpnetview, netconnect, connectto) may also help... For sure the greatest P2P system ever :)

That was the whole point - you're right, these scanners aren't new, but this is the first time one is being sold as a P2P system.
