Live Burial of Pigs

"It sounds too horrific to be true, but officials in South Korea are piling pigs on top of each other in trucks, dumping thousands of them into mass graves, and burying them alive."
These measures are being taken to stop an outbreak of foot-and-mouth-disease, "the most serious in Korea's history".
The experience of being present for these mass cullings is so harrowing that South Korea has been offering its workers therapy.
See for yourself. (video link, not for the faint of heart).
Peta posting where the quote in the description comes from.
Is all of this making you sick to your stomach? Why not take a minute out of your day and make some noise about it:
Write to South Korean ambassador through the humane society
...and/or do it directly.

> And they can't use a bolt gun on them... Why?
That would take a very long time. I imagine the answer is money and lack of legislation against cruelty to food.

There are laws banning the live burial, but we have no laws under which those who violate the rules can be punished,
Huh?

No, it sounds exactly horrific enough to be true.
And they can't use a bolt gun on them... Why?
If a question that begins "why don't," the answer is "money."

DZack, this post probably isn't going to work out well, as it's more a call to action and you seem to be pushing an agenda as opposed to simply posting an interesting link. It comes off as combative.
Seriously? "Next"?
Yes, this is far down on my personal outrage meter.

I would rather reserve my sick stomach feelings for inhumane treatment of humans. As long as there are people in this world who are suffering, I really couldn't give two shits about a pig being buried alive, no matter how cute or delicious it may be.

It's seems inhuman to be able to see that video all the way through and manage nothing but a calloused shrug of your shoulders.

I do find this horrific, and seem to have enough room in my brain to give two shit about both suffering pigs and suffering humans, but I don't think this is a very good post.

Hey, Zack. How about allowing us the freedom to decide what disturbes us. Present the facts, let us decide, the "it should" stuff really isn't necessary, I only let my Mom tell me what I should or shouldn't do/feel.

I expect nothing less than barbarity in Asian countries’ treatment of animals and, I see here, nothing less than depraved indifference to same from MeFites, especially Funnyme or however the fuck he spells his username. (Important note: Everyone attuned to the suffering of animals is also concerned about human suffering. This isn’t a zero-sum argument.)
