Ed Roland announced earlier today on 99x that Ross Childress was no longer with Collective Soul. [more...]
Omigod! What will Collective Soul be like without Ross Childress? I mean, he was like the main reason I listened to Collective Soul. Who will play the G chords now? I'm going to go burn my albums. Ed Roland is a fucking asshole. (We kid because we love — really.)

Say it ain't so! This is horrible.
The last time I cried this much was when Britney Spears left the Mickey Mouse Club...or maybe when that one guy left Menudo.
I don't know if my world will ever be the same again.

You know, had MeFi been around in 1997, I still would've thought twice about posting when a founding member left my favourite band. Is there anything about this "story" worth discussing by the general public, or am I standing alone in thinking that this lament is better left to a Collective Soul fansite forum?

Sorry, I'll do better next time. We have discussed other bands with similar problems before, so I figured this one would fit here, I was wrong.

Shhhh, Cecily, do not invoke the name. Especially not in the presence of mentions of Collective Soul.
