Yeah, I know... another artist, but come on! He kicks ass. I'm not much for Flash or background music, but really, this place is shiny, and all 'new media' like, and it's pretty... and it's umm.... oh! and it's easy to navigate dammit.... and shiny...

amen aenemated.

and i guess i feel the same way about most music out now. it's been done, and much better -- please, it is time to move on. my ananalogy:

creed is to top 40
as
2advanced is to web design

i guess the point is that i really don't hate them, but i like all the marshmallows in my lucky charms, not just the green ones being shoved down my throat.

while there's nothing inherently wrong with this design, it's still fairly unremarkable. surf any design portal for a little while and you'll come across 10 sites with this same exact look.

way too many design trends at work here.

In my opinion, artists should be recognized for their creativity, innovation, and not by how well they can emulate and crank out the latest popular design trend. Show me somebody who can create a website that I haven't seen before rather than a website that I've seen multiple times.

i always find greyscale.net refreshing. this is some pretty good work, but like the other posts already made clear, it's nothing that hasn't been done before. although i do admire the skill and time it takes to develop an eye candy web site.

though i shouldn't be talking considering my weblog looks like 5 million others, i really wasn't too impressed by the lack of anything innovative. not that everything has to be innovative, but i was expecting at least something considering it got front-page linked on mefi. oh yeah... looking for the enter button for 10 seconds = not good.

Looks nice, but obviously, like any eye candy site, it has problems.

The thing I like most is that it combines flash and regular HTML pretty effectively.

Text is meant to be read. Make it large enough for that to be possible. Using Flyspeck3 for everything seems to be a common thing for Flash people. I'd be interested in finding out where exactly that came from. Not even just for actual content text, but for the truly unreadable stuff like on the splash page and that top left graphic.
But yeah, it's neat looking, though nothing particularly interesting about it. Go to DeviantArt(which he actually links to), and you'll find many many other people doing the same stuff.

the only site that still consistently impresses me is yugop.com. this guy is too kick ass for words.
