Clinton speaks, pundits spin: The Washington Times and the spread of a media myth

Clinton speaks, pundits spin: The Washington Times and the spread of a media myth Yep, the loony right-wingers obsession with hating all things Clinton continues.
Well, for the most part, only the right wing wackos are making a big deal about it. Most reasonable Americans probably know better than to take the Times, Drudge, and National Review [and all the others right-wing spin machines -- see mediawhoresonline.com] at face value. As I said before, if Clinton didn't exist, the rabid right wing would have to invent him.

good lord man, seriously.
Explain HOW is this (either posts) a troll? Don't just come here and say something is a troll just because you DISAGREE with it. OK?

Rastafari, are you so delusional that you can't see that's an obvious attempt to stir anger? I mean come on. If the link was "Bush slips up a few words. All those commie left-wingers are all over it again! Don't they have anything better to do?" It'd be torn apart here. Think outside of you little world and try to see the other side next time, okay?

So long as "loony right-wingers obsession with hating all things Clinton continues"1 Paul Begala and the Clinton-Musketeers would "Defend [the] hero against this scurrilous attack." Now a days the Clinton-loyalists stay organized via the internet with their $30.00 subscription in the Clintonstaff.com* website and a super secret Yahoo!Groups mailing list.

Wait, did someone say something about ignoring The Times? How often must a phrase be repeated before it's considered rhetoric, anyway?
"Today, The Times reported that water is wet."
"How many times have we told you never to listen to The Times? It's all fabricated right-wing propaganda, and nothing published therein is true! Why, it's a regular jingoistic straw man!"
Word to geoff, and word to yo mothah.

Is it really a troll to point out that people are grossly distorting what someone said? Of course, liberals do the same thing to Bush, but I'd hardly call it trolling to point it out.

Electro - Nope, not at all, but if you word it so that it's offensive or "causes the fightin' blood to boil" ("loony right-wingers") then it is.

Since some of you missed it, I'll quote myself.
Yeah, I know, hating Clinton doesn't make you "loony".
The full-time obsession with destroying Clinton is loony though , IMO.

Seperating every sentance as its own paragraph in your posts, is also loony.

I lived through a time when we had two presidents in a row who were EVIL, CRIMINAL,LYING, MURDERERS.That would be LBJ and Nixon, may their names be erased forever. Check out their demonic asses and you might come to see that Bill Clinton and George W. Bush are not of the caliber to be laughed at, demonized, or really, worth taking up a lot of time.NEXT CASE.....

Thanks, Dr. Grammar. Is this any better? Geez...it's a bad habit, I suppose.
I see where it can be annoying, oops.

nothing you are told is true! don't matter if you read it in the newspapers (offline and on), heard it from your leaders, saw it on TV, or posted on mefi. it's all lies, lies, lies!
the only thing thats true is that crusty ole tradition-clinging god-and-apple-cider praise-the-lord-and-pass-the-ammo right wingers don't get along with hot-shot self-righteous know-it-all-collij-boy hippie wussy left wingers, and that anyone in the middle is too cowardly to pick a side.
in fact, not even that much may be true!

spinsanity seems like a nice resource. Thanks for the link.
mediawhoresonline, on theother hand, is pure partisan drivel. I recommend a compare-and-contrast for anyone who seeks objective analysis.

I hate Clinton. Never voted for him; never would. I thought he was a waffling, gutless, and lying pol who would do anything, say anything, and sacrifice all principle to get his way.
Having said that, he's outta here and IMHO all of the people who can't possibly stand to think that he's not around to agonize themselves about should get a life.

My opinion: on the one hand, the Spinsanity essay is interesting. On the other, the commentary added here is inappropriate editorializing.

Political opponents making up slanders and spreading them: "interesting".
Quoting the title of an article in link-text: "editorializing, trolling".
Maintaining contact with co-workers: sinister. [Beware Ethel's inconsistent indentation of quotes.]
"Of course, liberals do the same thing to Bush . . ." If "liberals" were as good at shameless perversion of truth and willful hypocrisy Gore would be in the White House right now . . . and I'd still be angry with their tactics, which have no place in a rational democracy. It is, would you believe, possible to denigrate your opponent while still remaining truthful.

Other people hate Clinton too, but they don't make a full-time job out of it.
Move on already.
