How Cosmopolitan Are You?

How Cosmopolitan Are You? So you think you're a man of the world? Or a femme du monde? Well, The Economist's quiz will tell you if you are or not.
I did terribly and am an ignorant hick. But I knew that already. But how cosmopolitan are these folks anyway? Do they know the proper malt-liquor for a hip-hop party(St. Ides) as opposed to Metal party(Haffenreffer Private stock). Or what makes of motorcycle are permissable at an American biker bar(Harleys, Triumphs and Indians only, please) or what do do when you knock down someone in the mosh pit(pull them off the ground and throw them back into the fray)? Hmmm...thought not. Sounds like they could use some cultural education themselves. ;)

Despite all the years I've lived overseas, I'm an utter plebe. I did get the question about Lenin's Tomb correct, because I'd been there.

Much of the info on the quiz seems to be relatively specific, as opposed to general knowledge, which I don't like. The quiz was fun to take though.
And as everyone knows, all you have to do to be cosmopolitan is not drink cosmopolitans.

5 out of 20.
All guesses, which doesn't make it any better.
I hate pop quizzes!

Etiquette for Outlaws has hints on lap dance tips, police interaction rules as well as S+M etiquette. A guide for life, as far as I'm concerned.

Thanks, MC!

I got nine and I have no idea how that happened. the parasite museum answer was certainly an accident.

Six. I did get the parasite museum correct, without guessing.
Maybe it's better not to know some things.

I got 'em all right, except for the 16 that I guessed wrong.
Some interesting info in the answers. I especially liked the one about the two dozen carnations. Who knew? (Not me, obviously.)

I got nine, would have had ten but I second-guessed myself on the parasite museum.

2 out of 20. But they didn't ask any questions about Puerto Vallarta, Las Vegas, Disneyland.....I'm not sure I get what "world" they live in, but it isn't mine.

5 out of 20, all guesses. Still a neophyte, it seems.

The only one I actually knew was the flowers (I was in Baku earlier this year where lots of russian customs are followed). Oh, and the Tate I knew. But I think the rest that I got right were just guesses. The quiz seems a bit tilted toward certain spots - buenes aires had at least two questions, johannesburg, russia, japan... very businessman oriented. Not to debate my status as an ignorant prole, of course.

9 out of 20 -- with the realisation that this quiz doesn't test your cosmopolitain cred nearly as much as it tests just how well and how often you've read The Economist's own stories about these spots which it deems the important international cities.
