Ashcroft and the entire U.S. attorney's office in Houston recuse themselves from the Enron investigation. Even more noteworthy is Arthur Andersen's admission that they destroyed documents related to Enron between September and November of last year. Was AA attempting to hide the fact that they looked the other way on their audits? What does this say for investor faith in the audit process? And, if there was impropriety should Andersen be held just as liable as Enron's execs?

I'm sensing that Enron execs, AA & the White House are going to get dragged through the mud for the next year. Only the last will avoid prosecution.

Not too many seem to be anxious to take a jab at the politicians. Is this because of the 9/11/01 attacks? Until someone takes the position of, "Hell, yeah. Let's get these crooks and string 'em up!" we won't have much closure to speak of.

Yes, and the fact that we democrats don't have the 'nads to force the issue, like the GOP did with Clinton.

I don't think they should engage in witch hunts, but I fear the Dems will be far too concerned with poll numbers to get to the bottom of WH (especially Cheney's) involvement.

Would anyone be happy if they didn't?
