Former porn star Linda Lovelace dies... Who could forget the classic pr0n movie of all time...Deep Throat and that SONG! Can anyone find the intro song (and self-titled) to Deep Throat?? Unfortunately, the movie is also a classic example of women being forced into the pornography business which later led to Lovelace becoming an anti-pornography advocate.

I only saw this movie long after the fact. . .and it could have made anti-pr0nography advocates of us all. . .

Never seen the movie, but there is an ASCII version out there...dubbed Deep ASCII, of course.

Sad for Linda - she went through hell - she published a book called "ordeal" but it's out of print now...

Don't worry, someone will probably pull it out of mothballs to exploit her yet again for profit.

I want to know more about this song. Are there lyrics or an mp3 floating around somewhere?

I am looking trust me.. so far all I can remember is:

Deep throat.. deeper than deep your throat" which is how it starts and this little catchy verse:

"Now I'm going to tell you the way it has to be
and pay attention, I'm sure that you will see -
If you relax your muscle and once you hit that spot
keep right on pushing and give it all you got!!!
Now we found your tickler, the solution is quite clear
For if we both can hit it now, the bells you'll surely hear DEEP THROAT, DEEPER THAN DEEP YOUR THROAT, DEEP THROAT."

Then it ends with little bubble sounds a la VH1's Pop-Up Video intro...

More than that I do not remember...

Luke Ford, chronicler of the porn industry, offers a different take on Lovelace from the people who worked with her.

Speaking carefully: I know someone who got involved in kink while in an emotionally abusive marriage. She was "willing" at the time for a variety of reasons, one of them being the thought that this would help improve her relationship. Later, she wished none of it had ever happened. I can't help seeing Lovelace's story in that light.

I was going to point out the Luke Ford side of the story myself. I know this is treading on the brittle eggs of political correctness, but I have a difficult time taking 'Ordeal' and the latter Lovelace interviews on faith.

It is hardly unheard of for a porn start to later regret it and an autobiography certainly isn't the most reliable source of information. I have no idea if this is the case, I do know that Ms. Lovelace managed to parlay a few crappy porn loops into a lucrative career and in the process became a household name.

I saw it on a dare way back then, with a woman friend, and we sat through the end of the feature before. I always thought her fame was based on the fact that she had a beaming smile--whether or not it really was sincere--she looked like she was having fun instead of just bored to death and punching the clock, which was how the woman in the other film looked. In Ordeal was about the best Sammy Davis Jr story I ever read.
