Frank Moore

Frank Moore [NYT], the originator of the red ribbon, died of AIDS last week. His gorgeous paintings depicted politics from Yosemite to Versace. As one of the few incredibly contemporary but still publicly accessible artists, he will be missed.
Indeed he will be missed. Frank was true to his vision and stuck by it, producing an amazing body of work. I especially like the wintry paintings from several years ago.
Godspeed, Frank.

Great, an interesting painter with a modicum of skill -- and he's gone. And we're left with the rest of them.

Kramer refused to wear a ribbon, and look what happened to him. Damn ribbon-thugs.
