Don Markstein's Toonopedia I happened to be searching for a picture of Sniffles The Mouse when I came across this great treasure trove of cartooniness. Also settled a raging Mushmouth/Dumb Donald debate I had been having with myself. So much good stuff.

Wow -- I must have missed it first time around, so thanks, Kafkaesque! Great stuff -- I'm really glad that there is someone out there with enough time & expertise on his (her?) hands to document this stuff.
Mark my words: someone, somewhere will use this site when they are called by someone in the "hot seat" on the Millionnaire game-show.

Tell me a little more about the raging debate you've been having with yourself, Kafkaesque. Have a seat here on my nice comfy leather sofa. Just let me grab my clipboard so I can jot a few things down.

I'm most fascinated by the typography used for each letter of the alphabet on Toonopedia. I'm trying to figure out where they all came from. And he remembered Ruff and Reddy! Good site.

Looking through that, I realized that late 80's, early 90's was IMO the height of the comic strip.

Whoa. It has to be Colonel Bleep - I see a cowboy, a caveman, AND an alien - all on the good guys page. I spent over an hour googling every possible combination of caveman, cowboy, and alien a few weeks ago. I've never heard of Colonel Bleep.

....and where's M*U*S*H, hah? The cartoon spoof of M*A*S*H featuring dogs stationed in an army fort in the Arctic Circle. Let's hear it for Eagle-Eye, Trooper, Sonar, and Col. Flake! A brilliant idea. This show died way too soon. Why didn't you people watch, dammit?!

And I loved Filmation's Tarzan, and that great, animated Star Trek
Actually, I think The Big Cartoon Database might be a better resource. Sorry, Kafkaesque. But thanks for inspiring me to Google deeper into the topic.
