It's cute. It's funny. It's simple. It comes in different sizes and offers lots of goofy artistic possibilities. Its silly commercials [quicktime] will crack you up. It is nothing, really. It is just Meary.
Yes, you're right. I should have mentioned it's a worldwide sticker campaign based in Japan that uses different-sized cartoon eyeballs to fun effect. I got carried away by the nonsensicalness of it all.

Cool. Leave it to Japan, where one third of periodicals are comic books, to launch a campaign to anthropomorphize the world.

Be sure to check the Meary in the world pictures - 11 pages worth - and the bulletin board pages, too.
Strangely similar is this....
What's better, to me, is that Meary allows the user more creativity than the Alien Resistance, Giant or other campaigns have. It's a much more interactive experience, I think.

My brain hurts too much this evening to figure out how to order to the US, though :(

I need Meary. I must have Meary. No other brand of sticker eyes will do.
Unfortunatly I'm not really into sending money orders using engrish instructions.
Someone please point me in a US domestic direction at which I may throw horrid amounts of cash so I may make everything in my apartment have eyes.

The email address is furo@furo.tv, which you can find by dealing with the frames I avoided. I know you can order in English since a friend was passing out strings of sticker eyes at a recent party.
I should probably mention that the friend is the "I threw up" guy linked at Meary's Especial Link page. I avoided posting Meary here for a couple of weeks before realizing it was stupid to do that just because I knew a guy on the links page. Especially since I love this kind of guerilla popcult stuff.
[Although I will admit that I think the "I threw up" stickers are another great example of a sticker assault that gives users a more creative incentive than your typical sticker stuff. Like I said, j'adore this stuff.]

For about $2.00, you can go to any craft store and buy a bag of about a hundred adhesive-backed plastic doll eyes which you can then stick all over your mother-in-laws a friend's house in places where they will not all be found until years later. Under the toilet seat is a good place, as are old family photos. And don't forget the grandfather clock!

For me, buying eyes to stick on things ranks up there with buying pictures of unforgetful eagles looming over the WTC.
On the other hand, from the 'adbusters' site puddsharp mentioned:

"you'll need Adobe Acrobat 5.0"So the producers of "Buy Nothing Day" chose to _buy_ Adobe Acrobat, thus forcing participants to use commerical software where free, open software would have done the job just fine.

Now, now, Satapher. Most comic books are written at a *higher* reading level than our periodicals.

Satapher, I must invoke Sturgeon's law here (90% of EVERYTHING is crap). Comics are no worse than movies, TV, fiction and other media in terms of quality.

Uh, Adobe Acrobat 5.0 *is* free software, godidog. I suggest massive doses of Japanese stick-on eyes applied over your skin and living quarters to help you out of your current mood.

Actually, Adobe Acrobat *Reader* is free; to make PDF files, you need to either purchase the full fledged software or subscribe to the online PDF creator.

Maybe I should have gone with the eagle.

It's been so long since I saw a pdf made that I'd actually forgotten that, thanks. But I still don't get what godidog was saying with the "forcing participants to use commerical software" stuff. If he wants to encourage companies to stop supporting Adobe's scheme for making money with Acrobat, fine, but it's not like Adbusters is "forcing participants" to pay for anything.
