"Get some respect, be some patriot." The Department of Homeland Security really, really needs "a piece of identity ware." Adbusters culture-jammers need not apply.

Buy a piece of the Homeland here. (sale ends December 16.)

I think this is less about finding the DHS a logo than about the launch and promotion of logo-contest.com, "your one-stop source for logo contests". Nothing on that site suggests that these logos will be actually be reviewed by anyone in the government.

If there was ever a chance to act like I'm on Fark on Mefi, this is surely it.

Speaking out for logo-contest.com:

In the chicken v. egg conundrum, DHS logo is the chicken with website the egg ... and the chicken comes first (in case you don't know).

Logo-Contest.com *is* looking for venture capital or other sponsorships. Really.

I was just registering my disappointment that the gems of nuanced language weren't actually government sponsored.

If there was ever a chance to act like I'm on Fark on Mefi, this is surely it.

Stan, it's homeland security. Homeland.

Ryland, if voting was enabled, you'd get my vote. Sorry Stan.

Bah, you've almost convinced me to put more than 2 minutes into my submission and that ridiculously expensive Graphic Design BFA to use. Maybe later.

I'll give it a shot.

I like yours best of those here, Ryland, though it does kind of remind me of a piano keyboard and could double as say, Julliard's logo.

On a related note, Tuesday Morning Quarterback had new slogans for some governmental agencies, as well as this week's contest of a new slogan for the DHS...
