National Geographic swimsuit issue

We've hit bottom: Joining the ranks of Maxim, FHM, and Sports Illustrated, the venerable National Geographic is publishing a swimsuit issue. For the first time, young men will have a legitimate reason for hiding the magazine under the mattress.

Though hardly a prude, the pervasive use of sex as selling tool is disconcerting. When National Geographic turns to scantily clad women in an effort to turn a dollar, I imagine we can soon expect the same from other institutions. Perhaps a women of public radio calendar?

Oh, come on, who sounds ignorant now? This whole controversy has no doubt boosted NG's sales. Regardless of the "intent" of the article the publicity its garnered has worked, look we're talking about it on her in TWO posts already. When was the last time an NG article got this much excitement in the media?
