Pat Robertson Cancer

Pat Robertson talked about the United States being punished by God for its sinful ways in the wake of the Sept. 11 attacks. Now, he's been diagnosed with prostate cancer. Maybe God does punish the sinful?

Yesterday the bus pulled away before I could get to the stop, and that really pissed me off. I hope the driver gets cancer and dies, because it made me five minutes late for work.

I think it's a sort of poetic justice that Pat Robertson has ass cancer, but I feel bad for him and his family--that's scary, and I hope he comes through okay. I think he's purely evil, but I wouldn't have wished him ill.
That being the difference between him and me, of course.

from what i understand, all men are susceptible to prostate cancer after they reach a certain age, so it doesn't seem too likely that God is punishing Rudi Giuliani, John Kerry, Pat Robertson and all those average Joes with one fell swoop. i'm sure there's punishment enough in store for Pat in the hereafter, prostate or no...

Ish. I loathe the man as much as anyone can, but I don't think I'm going to indulge in any schadenfreude over a cancer diagnosis.

I dont wish cancer on anyone... i wonder if robertson will take some time and think about what is causing soaring cancer rates in the United States

I don't wish cancer on anyone either. My point is that Pat Robertson suggested the United States was being punished for something that was largely out of our control. There's considerable irony when something tragic happens to him that's beyond his control. Does Pat Robertson see God's hand at work in all tragedies?

We had a thread similar to this kind of statements last week by men of the cloth. So do we need to re-discuss? I'm not pointing just trying to allow the community to move on instead of dividing itself.
