While we're all waiting for the inevitable to start... Here's a nice little game of flash that challenges your brains. What more can one ask for? Oh yeah, the hero is a platypus, and the quest is for beer. I think. *burps*
gee. it feels like a text adventure. but with, like, pictures and stuff. whoah.
which isn't to say that this isn't terribly cool. which it is. at least to a dork like me. (say, does anyone else know how to program INFORM?)

If you're done with the game and still waiting for the inevitable to start, take some time to marvel at THE DUMBEST GUY ON EARTH!

I am totally stumped on this. I've climbed up the ladder and gone all round that chamber, down into the next one and over the little partition. Then I go nowhere so I go back up the ladder.
Someone help me before I go insane! PLEASE!!!

For some reason, it reminds me of Myst or the old Laserdisc-driven Dragon's Lair arcade game.

You guys, I have been trying to figure out the pipes for 2 days. Can you IM me or something and help me cheat? I found C4A's hole. I finally got frustrated enough to quit.

Warning: minor spoilers in this post.
Andrea (and all those having trouble with the pipes): It might help you to examine the pipe structure w/ the telescope. From the right-hand side of the "cable car" across the ravine, go to the ledge leading off into the distance; then, from the screen this takes you to, step on to the wooden plank at the right-hand edge of the screen and follow the steps to the telescope.
Now if only I'd figured out that that was there *before* I'd been washed out of the pipes umpteen times. Damn kookaburra.

A bit more explicit advice on the pipes: go up pipe D to D4, and hang a left. You will get a breather. When it's clear, head leftwards (up only as necessary) in a hurry & you'll find a door.
Just finished the beast. Nice little game.

But how do I get there? I am meant to be working from home today but I can already see how the day is going to turn out if I don't get this sorted ...

Jan - you need to get one of the water wheels turning and then hitch a ride on the pink belt. This opens up the rest of the game...

The bit about this wonderful little game that threw me -- and I don't think this is a spoiler -- is that when you're stopped on a path with an option to go back or an option to continue forward, it's not intuitive that that _distant_ path wrapping around the side of the mountain can be clicked on and navigated, kicking up your viable options to three. This happens in at least two places. It opened up an exciting new world of not ripping my hair out. I think this might be where some people are losing the plot.
I am also glad I "cheated" on the pipes by reading that spoiler, it was hard enough getting through that without also doing it by trial-and-error. Mouse-clicking was occasionally flakey enough that Joe would refuse to go through a pipe, just sort of fidgeting to my little finger dancing.

I'm getting there. I managed to work out which sluice gates to open/shut in order to get the pink belt going, and I found the telescope (thanks Johnny Assay).
Now what? Let me know privately if you don't want to post any more spoilers. I have absolutely NO patience with stuff like this and need all the cheats I can get!

NO, I do not want to replay. Cute, but frustrating. The surfing is a sign that the end is near.
