oooh. there's more.

This is lovely, especially the 'cave'. (Move the little gates around to create a soundscape.)

Great link...

Does the music make anyone else think of Mr. Rogers?

Maybe it's just me...

wa-a-a-a-ay cool, as I believe the youth are saying these days.

This is unimaginably beautiful. I've seen a lot of things on the net, but this, I think is the first one that's ever touched me like real world art. Some of them made me laugh, some of them nearly made me cry.

I wish I could read the text.

In Ottawa, there's a sort of real life spacial version of this, next to their city hall (at least, I think that's what that building is). You're walking along a perfectly normal path, and all of a sudden, a tinkle of musical notes. There are sensors on the sides of the path, and as you move amongst them, they generate the notes.

wow....just....wow.

and dash_slot-, i think it's 'wiiiiicked cool', although i could be off a generation or two ;)

I'm thinking more like Sun Ra.

Well I thought it was fabulous, but I showed it to my mate Dave and he said "next time just send me some decent pr0n, OK ?". Dave is a philistine I'm afraid.

Thanks for the link. If you hadn't realised it works in the background behind whatever other windows you have open so you can surf to pretty music. Which is nice.

There are 24 different animations--you control them by waving your mouse around, and advance from one to the next by clicking. They have names like "gravitation," "milky way," "reaction," etc.

Beautiful! I had no idea Shockwave could produce those wonderous effects.

Hey if I leave the Flash window open in the background the sounds are still generated when I move the cursor over the window in front ...
posted by carter at 7:48 AM on July 6, 2003

Hey! The sounds continue to happen when I move the cursor, no matter what app I'm in! Kinda makes word processing fun (although it will probably drive me nuts after a while ...).

Oooops. Before I got so excited, I guess I shoulda read squealy's comment first. Okay, I'll stop posting now.
