According to Rick's frankly terrifiying website, he was involved in writing songs for the departed Pop Idol boy band One True Voice earlier this year, and someone called Max (who plays the banjo by the way) has recorded an album and Rick sings on two of the tracks.

Rick Astley co-wrote a song with Fish for the album "Raingods with Zippos". Yeah, I know it's not that interesting, but reading the sleeve notes at the time, I remember wondering what the hell Astley was doing on the songwriting credits.

Thanks folks! And at least now he looks less like a little boy with a deep voice--we used to wonder if it was really him singing back then (a la Black Box and Milli Vanilli).
Here's a limited set of US charts from Billboard for the US (it's not complete tho, like this one). I always find it interesting how many more novelty (or just weird), and nostalgic songs make it to the top 40 in the UK all the time. Is it because of the smaller amount of sales required to crack the list?
