M. Ace, the Ookworld's wobbly sovereign, has long been an associate of the Milkmen and appears on several of their songs in a supporting role. Rodney Anonymous has been blogging for a while too.

Lessnotforget Serrated Edge:
"Yeah, Charles Nelson Reilly, he's our man,
He can't heal the sick with the touch of his hand,
He can't walk on water, can't make wine flow;
Just another greedy actor on the late late show"
Who DOESN'T love songs about Charles Nelson Reilly?!

I know a woman who can see all around the world
The world is full of electric signals that only she can seem to see
And she tells me heaven's angels are watching over me
There's a radio wired to my brain
An experiment I can't explain
I can hear the sounds of UFO's
I can hear the sounds of souls crying

Soul Rotation is a criminally underrated album.

Thanks Jason! Need to spend some time on this one.
I won a free coffee from our local shop (Shepherdstown, WV, not Paris that is) when I ID'd the Dead Milkmen playing on their always loud stereo -- seems I hear them once a week in there. (I think the youngster who gave me the coffee was more surprised that a square looking -- who am I kidding; square acting -- 42 year old could ID the Dead Milkmen.)
One of my favorite gifts ever is a poster titled "Everybody Loves Dick". It's not with me at the moment but am I remembering correctly that it is a Dead Milkmen poster? I can't find it anywhere on the web.

Beach party Vietnam
Surfin' with the Viet Cong
Cookin' hot dogs with napalm
A beach party Vietnam
- Hey Frankie, aren't you gonna give me youur class ring?
- Oh I'm afraid I can't do that, Annette
- Why not?
- 'Cause I don't have any arms!
(AH!)
Ahh, good times.

xmutex: it was that bit that got me to start saying "Jumpin' Jesus on a Pogo Stick!" regularly. I love that "song."

We joked that the four food groups for a band on the road were: beer, cigarettes, coffee, and 'Dung Bags'. What are Dung Bags you ask? (scientific terminology courtesy Tesco Vee from the Meatmen). These are microwavable bean and cheese burritos available at most fine convience stores and truck stops.

i ran into a friend of mine
said he was gonna take some words and make them rhyme
i said
"you can fool some of them some of the time, but you can only fool half them all of the time"
he said
"yes i do believe this is true, would you like to come and sniff some glue?..."
Ah yes, brings back fond memories... hope I got those lyrics right...

Listening to those old recordings, it cracks me up how thick their accents are.
