Iceblog! "Antarctica: the best place in the world to be naked" (and take a bunch of awesomely beautiful pictures, too).
Not to mention 75 Degrees South, Rhian's entries on Felix Salmon's blog, and the RRS Ernest Shackleton diaries.

Antarctica is so awesome, thanks for the link.
Holy crap, there's a volcano in Antarctica? How did I not know about this?

Largest population of bloggers per capita I'd bet... (though sometimes I think the US is pushing in close)
Nice find. Are there any African bloggers of note? It'd be nice to see all 7 continents represented on the a-list.

Neat. Someone needs to tell him to overexpose his photos a few clicks, though, so the snow comes out white instead of grey.

See, now going to Antarctica makes sense, as opposed to going to the Moon or Mars. It is a cold, strange, hostile, and alien environment, but it doesn't take $400 billion dollars to get there. I approve.

Sorry if this has been posted before, but it provides a nice counterpoint to all the cavorting about in hottubs going on down there.

KnitWit, I found a listing of continents here, and more specific to your question here (though I'm not sure what would be considered "a-list").

This isn't quit a blog, but my friend Sarah has been working down in Antarctica on and off for the past few years. She sends letters back stateside every once in awhile.

I can't resist a self-link here. I just spent about a year at the South Pole. I was a cook. Here's the blog I kept down there if anyone is interested.

"Antarctica: the best place in the world to be naked"
Sounds like the title for an upcoming all-nude calender, which will occupy shelf space right alongside the popular History Buffs.

And McMurdo's official newsletter - if you're into that kind of thing.
