TV Tropes Catalogued: like the As You Know, "Character A explains to Character B something that they both know, but the audience doesn't. "As you know, Simon, Jennifer has never been the same since the tragic codfish incident." "As you know, Jennifer, my Death Ray depends on codfish balls." Boing-Boing Filter

Humerous. The author is also clearly a BtVS fan, which is not a bad thing.

ah yeah, the gilligan cut. You can see it coming from a mile away.

Anything with that many references to Buffy is okay with me.

this is kind of cool, but why is each entry written without spaces LikeThis?

And why am I able to edit the entries?

(I tested it)

Oh. Nevermind.

Remind me to read the paragraph explaining the page.

edlundart and linux: welcome to the wonderful world of wiki.

The InterCapsThing annoys me too. FrickinInterCaps.

You mean CamelCaps, don't you? (They make humps in the middle of words, you see....)

Orson Scott Card points out several of these in his How to Write Science Fiction and Fantasy while tackling the problems of exposition. Apparently the mechanism highlighted in this post was used a lot by hard SF writers who were trying to explain how things worked to the reader.

Ha ha ha ha ha! I liked WaifProphet best. Man, I hate that kind of shit. (I also liked the reference in DoTheyKnowItsChristmas -- which is also hilarious -- to "dead as a subcategory of ill" in re: the WaifProphet.

Yeah, I kinda wish they had more references to 80s sitcoms, where a lot of these cliches were repeated ad nauseum, rather than constant Buffy references.

Yes, I know, since it's a wiki, if I don't like it I'm supposed to go in and fix it.

If you're looking for a drama/tragedy bent - I'd say just watch a season of 24. That show burns through the entirety of tried and true plot twists, tricks and tactics hourly.

I cheer for the inclusion of the HoYay.

(with proper citation too!)
