Zork over AIM!
March 21, 2004 8:04 PM Subscribe
Play Zork directly in IM. Send an instant message to InfoComBot and choose from a list of available text-based games. You can even save games and return to them later. One thing's for sure: I'm not getting any work done this week.
There, I just added Adventure for you. Let me know what you think.

It's getting laggy from Metafilter users flooding it, but it's surprisingly not getting kicked off the AIM network. If you're having trouble getting a response, try back later.

Okay, try InfocomBot2 instead. I set up a second bot that people can use.

I just like the fact that there is a Vectrex system displayed prominently on the page. A classic piece of video game history there. I still get mine out a couple of times a year and step back in time.

I originally had Bureaucracy in there, but the game uses all sorts of cursor control codes for filling out forms. It would be unplayable in AIM (or any other dumb terminal), so I removed it.

I don't use AIM, does it have The Hitchhikers Guide To the galaxy and (my personal fav) Leather Goddess of Phobos?
