My all time favorite Deskmod is currently experiencing financial diffuclties. Web Designer community Spoono( who seem to change their design every week ). And just general flash, raytrace, PS badass Phong.

CGTalk is one of the best communities for graphics out there (dominated by 3D). The company behind it, has started a series of books showcasing some of the best works.

Oh, for sites similar to the above mentioned Phong, check out the best graphics/flash webring Pixelcore.

There's also Abnormis, DepthCore, 3D Artists, Breed and 3DLuvr.
