According to the Paris Business Review, the Bill O'Reilly-led Boycott of French Goods is wreaking havoc on the French Economy. Or is it?
In order to boycott something, you have to have been buying it sometime in the past. O'Lielly's listeners are not exactly a drain on the global supply of Brie and Bordeaux to begin with.

good god. bill o'reilly is such a buffoon! i like to imagine when he's at home right before he goes to bed, looking at himself in the mirror, reassuring himself that he IS right and everyone else needs to shut up.
he just doesn't strike me as the "i don't really believe this i'm just saying it for ratings type." he seems to actually believe the shit flowing from his mouth.

Franken riffed on this recently, playing the audio from the segment where O'Reilly just makes up the Paris Business Review. He then conducted an interview with Jacque Wikler, the editor in chief of the well regarded journal. I remember when media types lost their job for shit like this. I guess that only happens when you're part of the "liberal" media.

O'Reilly is just as much a member of the media as Jerry Springer is.

More O'Reilly nutttiness. He gets called on his spin by one of his guests.
But then I decided to go one step further: "It seems to me like the pot calling the kettle black, Bill, because I just sat here five minutes ago as you re-recorded the introduction to this show to take out a statement from the head of the 9/11 commission stating that there was no evidence of a link between Saddam Hussein and 9/11."posted by euphorb at 9:48 PM on July 22, 2004
Apparently O'Reilly does not like being called "the pot." He exploded, repeatedly called me an "S.O.B." and assured me that he would cut my accusation from the interview when the show aired. He also said I would "never ever" be on his show again. At this point, I wasn't sure whether to take that as a threat or a promise.
I can't understand why he left Germany and Russia and all the other whiners who were on Hussein's bribe list out of the boycott. Maybe he has some other issue with the cheese-eating-surrender-monkeys, like maybe that they grant honorary Paris citizenship to American felons convicted and serving time for murder?
Pave France.
Say what you will about O'Reilly, he's hardly a member of the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy.
"O'Reilly has plenty of views that are not conservative. He supports gun control, is in favor of campaign finance reform and a patient's bill of rights, and is against the death penalty."
He thinks it's "Okay" for the government to confiscate the earnings of American citizens up to 50%(!), among many other loopy liberal views.
Or is it that he's just slightly to the right of the hammer-and-sickle troika of Jennings, Rather and Brokaw?

That is hilarious. You know, Hama7, you're really beginning to grow on me. You have such a subtle, understated wit.

From hama7's intellectual conservative link:
O'Reilly's willingness to invite guests on his show whose opinions are diametrically opposed to his, while maintaining a reporter's news presence, is part of the key to his success. Unlike primetime evening news, he fairly includes radical opinions from both the Left and the Right, as well as minority views along the political spectrum.
Unless "...while maintaining a reporter's news presence..." is conservative-speak for yelling shut-up, there must be some other show with a "Bill O'Reilly" hosting. Of hama7's many charms, one I find particularly amusing is the ability to provide links that actually subvert/discredit the point of his posts.
